Question 1

Growth Strategist

What are my top traffic sources this week, and which ones are actually converting?

Your top 5 traffic sources this week by sessions: Google / organic (12,480 sessions, 3.2% conversion rate), Meta / paid (8,920 sessions, 1.8% conversion rate), Direct (6,340 sessions, 4.1% conversion rate), Google / cpc (4,210 sessions, 2.9% conversion rate), and Email / newsletter (1,890 sessions, 5.7% conversion rate). The standout finding: your email newsletter drives the fewest sessions but the highest conversion rate at 5.7% — that's 3x your Meta paid rate. Meanwhile, Meta paid is your second-largest source but converts at only 1.8% with a 68% bounce rate. You're paying for traffic that isn't engaging. Consider reallocating 15-20% of Meta spend toward growing your email list.

Question 2

Founder / CFO

Show me the funnel from landing page to purchase — where are users dropping off?

Your purchase funnel this week: Landing page (34,840 users) → Product view (14,230 users, 40.8% rate) → Add to cart (4,680 users, 32.9% rate) → Begin checkout (2,106 users, 45.0% rate) → Purchase (1,116 users, 53.0% rate). The biggest drop-off is Landing → Product view — you're losing 59.2% of traffic before they even see a product. That's likely a landing page relevance issue. The second major leak is Product view → Add to cart at 67.1% drop-off. Compare this to industry benchmark of ~50% — your product pages may need stronger CTAs or social proof. Checkout → Purchase is actually healthy at 53%, well above the 35-40% average.

Question 3

Media Buyer

What does my real-time traffic look like right now? Any anomalies?

Right now you have 247 active users on your site. Top pages: /products/summer-sale (89 users), /homepage (52 users), /products/bestsellers (31 users). Traffic sources: Google organic (38%), Direct (28%), Meta paid (22%), Google CPC (8%), other (4%). Anomaly detected: your Meta paid traffic is 64% below the same hour yesterday (54 users now vs 148 yesterday). This could indicate an ad delivery issue — your campaign may have hit a spending limit or an ad set was paused. Meanwhile, Google organic is 22% above yesterday's same hour, suggesting your recent blog post is getting traction. No anomalies on conversion rate — holding steady at 3.1% across all sources.

Cross-platform

The missing link between ads and engagement

GA4 shows what happens after the click. Combine it with your ad platforms to answer questions no single tool can.

Meta Ads

Discover which Meta campaigns drive engaged traffic vs. clicks that bounce. Optimize for on-site conversions, not just ad-level metrics.

Google Ads

See which Google Ads keywords lead to the longest sessions and highest conversion rates — not just the most clicks.

FAQ

The usual questions before connecting Google Analytics.

Can SharpMatter modify my Google Analytics configuration?
No. SharpMatter uses read-only access to your GA4 property. We can never modify your analytics configuration, create or delete events, change property settings, or alter any data. All analysis is purely observational.
What GA4 data do you access?
We access traffic data (sessions, users, page views), conversion events, user demographics (country, device, language), acquisition channels, e-commerce metrics (if configured), real-time active user data, and funnel reports. We do not access your Google account, Gmail, Google Ads billing, or any personally identifiable user data.
How does GA4 connect if I already have Google Ads connected?
GA4 is discovered automatically during the Google OAuth flow. When you connect Google Ads, we also request the analytics.readonly scope. If you have GA4 properties associated with your Google account, they're automatically discovered and connected — zero extra setup. If you don't have Google Ads, connecting Google Analytics triggers the same Google OAuth flow.
Do I need GA4 or does Universal Analytics work too?
SharpMatter requires GA4 (Google Analytics 4). Universal Analytics was sunset by Google in July 2024 and is no longer supported. If you haven't migrated to GA4 yet, Google has automatically created a GA4 property for most accounts — check your Google Analytics admin panel.
Is GA4 included in the 24-hour trial?
Yes. GA4 is included in every plan and in the 24-hour trial. Connect GA4 alongside your ad platforms during the trial to see the full journey — ad platforms show the click, GA4 shows what happens after. Available on both Solo and Agency.
What's the difference between GA4 data and Meta/Google ad-level data?
Ad platform data (Meta, Google Ads) tells you how your ads performed — impressions, clicks, spend, and attributed conversions. GA4 tells you what happened after the click — bounce rate, time on site, pages viewed, funnel completion, and actual on-site behavior. Combining both gives you the full picture: which ads drive engaged users, not just clicks.
Can I use the real-time tools during a campaign launch?
Absolutely. The ga4_get_realtime tool shows active users, top pages, and traffic sources in real-time. During a campaign launch, you can ask questions like "How many users are on my site right now from Meta paid?" or "What pages are new visitors landing on?" to monitor the launch live.
